Hi book nerds! I am here today for an incredible unboxing of my first ever Fairyloot box!
WARNING: If you haven’t received your April box yet, please exit as this post contains spoilers!
Okay, a little flash back. Last February, YA Books Central and best-selling author Evelyn Skye had a giveaway on Instagram. The prize? A 3-month book subscription box from Fairyloot. I joined thinking, “oh, I’m probably not gonna win, but let’s do it anyway because this is so cool”. But dear reader, lo and behold, I was the winner. I almost screamed when I found out! But I had to restrain myself as I was at work at that time haha!
April was my first box and I was so excited because I loved that theme the moment I saw it! The theme was Dark Magic, featuring a Latinx-inspired YA fantasy book and items inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic, Shadow and Bone, Harry Potter, Nevernight, and Children of Blood and Bone.
Fast forward to April 25, the first box arrived in the mail! Here’s what I found inside:
- Tea strainer inspired by Mister Kindly from Nevernight
- Philosopher’s Stone Soap by Pretty Suds
- Children of Blood and Bone-inspired notebook, exclusive design by Stella Bookish Art
- Book sleeve inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic, designed by Monolime Art
- Exclusive enamel pin inspired by A Curse So Dark and Lonely, design by Literary Emporium
- Exclusive tote bag inspired by The Grisha trilogy, designed by @morgana0anagrom and @kdpletters
- Exclusive Collectible Tarot Cards inspired by the Six of Crows Duology, artwork by @artbyemmilinne
And the book of the month…
- Nocturna by Maya Motayne, Fairyloot edition with an exclusive cover, sprayed edges, author signature, author letter, and exclusive character art by @niru.sky
All in all, that was such a great box! An amazing one for my first ever Fairyloot! Almost every item came from a fandom of mine, except for the tea strainer and the enamel pin as I have yet to read Nevernight and ACSDAL. I haven’t read ADSOM yet as well, but I’m already claiming it as a fandom as I’ve had my eyes on the series since 2017 haha! (And I’m planning to finally read them this month as I’ve got all three books now!)
Anyway, I am really really happy with this box. It was so good! I have wanted a Fairyloot box for myself, but I haven’t gotten around to buying one. But now, I have one in my hands! I am eternally grateful for YA Books Central and Evelyn Skye!
How about you guys? What do you think about this box? Have you received a Fairyloot box yourself? How was your very first? Come tell me in the comments!
